ESPN.com's Marc Stein has learned that the Lakers' big man, who can opt out of his contract after next season, has demanded a trade.

I love when athletes "demand" they get traded. Shows how egotistical they are.

Travelling so I only hear tid bits, but I hear he wants to be traded because Jackson is leaving...nothing more than dedication to your coach...same with the Jordan/Jackson connection...

Shaq is relatively softspoken. Did you ever consider the fact that maybe he just doesnt like the way the Lakers are running the team and isnt being cocky?

I think he makes more than Jordan at his peak, and I figured that Jordan, if he took a piss during the game, made my yearly salary if he took at least 2 minutes to do it...

$5 shaq wont go anywhere
no team can match his outrageous salary or rather would want to match it..albeit giving up key players to get an aging dominate center that can equal his salary wont be easy.... but can be done

i retract my previous statement. i'm far too valuable to be lost over something like that.
if the Kings pick up Shaq, i'll shoot Rick Adleman on moral principle.

Fortune magazine has estimated Jordan's net worth at $408 million. And he still gets over $40 million in royalties and endorsements, every year. And he hasnt played ball in how long? Shaq can only hope he is as smart. I also hear MJ is going after the Bucks, trying once again to become an owner.

Shaq seems smart enough, I mean, the only thing that'd prove otherwise would be........
